Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

_{Before you guys say "aw that sucks!" it really doesn't, in fact I think that was the best thing for my laptop.
It's made my laptop go 10x faster, work better, Java work better, EVERYTHING my laptop needed is now here.
okay so like, at first the Virus was to where I could shut down my laptop, I couldn't open anything on my laptop.
But then, we had to take out the battery, so we did, I turned on my laptop and I kid you not, the crap that I needed off of my laptop that I couldn't uninstall off of my laptop, ALL went. I was like "YAY."
Now, I can use my laptop for Youtube and stuff, without it crashing, and I can use DFKHBJ EVERYTHING.
ITS PERFECT NOW.
I THANK THAT VIRUS.
IT SAVED MY LAPTOP.
I DONT EVEN THINK IT WAS A VIRUS.

I've spent the past few days with horribly spotty internet --I just deleted and re-added my family's wireless network (CHANGING NOTHING, BTW) and now it's all working just fine.
Computers.
Stupid, stupid things. They think in stupidly straight lines. Don't let their fast-thinking fool you --they're a lot dumber than any human.
